Clean toilet and good emergency supply of water in the tank: Toilet tank chlorinators keep the bowl clean but chlorinate the tank water and corrode the tank parts. There is a special device available that treats only the water that goes into the bowl. It is made by fluidmaster and can be found at Lowe's. It is fairly simple to install and maintain. You don't have to buy the refills. You can just cut off the excess of the old cartridge below the threads to use as a lid. Then you can buy chlorinating or brominating tablets(which smell better) at Clear Spring Spas. A tablet lasts from one to two months and up to three tablets can be inserted.
Excess toilet noise: Troy likes to remove all noises from the home then add what he likes. Fill Pro toilet valves operate under water with much less noise which is nicer for those late night visits. They are also much smaller and more reliable than the standard large contraptions. They are fairly simple to install. Modules that Troy has installed 15 years ago are still operating very well with out interruption.
Heating and Air
Electronic thermostats are well worth it. They make the temperature much more comfortable and consistant and can save a lot on costs. Troy can usually install one and test it well within a half an hour.
